Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter 001 Pink Truffle Review and Swatches

I finally got to try the most talked about Revlon Lip Butters. I got about 5 of them and my fave of them all by far is 001 Pink Truffle. I really like the transparent quilted packaging. Also, the color of the case matches the shade color. It comes sealed with the bar code sticker that opens as a leaflet to show us the list of ingredients. It is overall well thought out and looks quite chic.

The top is clear and we can clearly see what the shade looks like. The bottom label shows the shade color, number, and name.

The amount of product you get is less compared to the regular amount of lipstick we usually get. The shade has so many undertones in it. I can see some shades of pink, and brown. There's a hint of warmness to it even though it is a cool-toned color.

If you can notice, you'll see that the lipstick has a tendency to smush, when I twist it up entirely and then roll it back down, a little bit of it gets onto the sides.

The ingredients are clearly shown in the sticky leaflet that comes as the seal. A small arrow helps us locate where to pull it up.

This shade is a perfect MLBB (my lips but better) shade on my lips. It is a dusky rose shade and looks like a brownish pink. There's not a lot of pigmentation for this shade but it provides a good enough coverage when applied generously. The pigmentation can be compared to tinted lip balms. It also has a very light shimmer but you cannot really see any glitter. A lot of bloggers/vloggers complained about the chunky glitter these lip butters have, but I couldn't find any in this shade or the other shades I bought.

The claims from revlon.com:
- Buttery Balm + Shiny Color
- Buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated.

- Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
- Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
- Sheer to medium color with buttery shine
- Available in 20 luscious shades

They don't claim it to be long-lasting which is true and that is to be expected from lip balms/butters and this shade stayed on 3 hours tops without eating or drinking in between. After that, you'll have to touch up which I don't mind as it is fairly easy to do so and does not even require a mirror. It also tints the lips with the original color as it fades. My lips felt really smooth, soft, shiny, and a little bit sticky. I think these lip butters can be considered as a pigmented lipgloss+chapstick combined. My lips looked nicely moisturized while sporting a nice shiny color. Also, since these are not lipsticks, the pigmentation is sheer and can be worn by anybody without the fear of feeling that the color might be bright/too much. For once I can say that I found a lipstick which has all the features that I ever wanted in one and which I can wear all year long. I can say that they are very wearable and can be used every day, during all seasons.

I really liked how Revlon came up with sweet names for these. A lipstick that feels so good deserves a sweet name. These lip butters do not have any noticeable scent or taste which is a plus. It filled up all the cracks and lines very well without setting into them and giving a smooth and shiny finish. The lipstick feels light on the lips. It doesn't feather, bleed, and doesn't apply cakey no matter how many swipes you do, in fact, the more swipes you do, the better it feels. You also don't need a lip liner for it.

One problem though is that they do feel a little sticky, kind of like sticky lip glosses. I don't know if anybody else has experienced it but I never heard anybody else complain about it. Another issue is that they smush and melt during summer or when exposed to too much heat.

They are reasonably priced at $7.49 at CVS for the amount of 0.09 oz (2.55 gm). I got them in a BOGO 50% off sale. The other shades I got are all pink and brown shades as well but this one is definitely my favorite. I recommend these to everyone, even teenagers who just started wearing makeup, they are that easy to wear and maintain. I just wish Revlon would come up with more colors. I'm definitely going to repurchase this shade.

I hope this review helps you to decide whether to buy or not.

    1. Its a lovely shade and a very neutral kind of shade, its gr8 on cool and neutral toned people but I'm guessing it'll look gr8 on warm toned skins too. But what's best is that its sheer and yet pigmented. Thanks :)

Top 12 Things to Buy from Kruidvat own Brand

We've been seeing inflation here in the Netherlands since October last year. It's just plain ridiculous to see something that I paid 5 euros for a few months back is now around 7 euros or maybe more. That doesn't sound like a lot but when you buy about 50 things (food, groceries, toiletries, etc.) for your house, it all adds up and overall you are paying 50 to 100 euros more than what you were paying previously. But unfortunately, not a lot of us have seen this increase in our pay and many people have even lost jobs during and after the covid crisis. So it's only natural for us to want to save our money wherever we can. But that said we also do not want to compromise on quality. And that is where the idea for this post comes from. Kruidvat is a drugstore that is similar to CVS/Walgreens in the US. Products sold here are mostly hygiene products, cleaning supplies, makeup, and over-the-counter medicines. I have been shopping here for hygiene products for years. By now I

April 2012 Favorites and Regrets

I can't believe April has already come to an end. I can't say I'm sorry either because this means less rain, more blossoms, and summer in another month. So without further ado, I present to you this month's beauty and makeup favorites. For those I've reviewed I have linked them to the blog post. For the rest of them, I left short reviews of why I did or didn't like them. As you can see there are quite a few things I've been liking this month. The list of all things beauty I've been loving/using frequently are: (in left to right order) Aussie Instant Freeze Hair Spray Extreme Hold: This product is just wow. The windy city can be brutal to hair and this product is really a blessing. It's easy to use and smells great. It's not too expensive and comes in a huge bottle. Clairol Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Conditioner Jergens Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Moisturizer: I first got introduced to this lotion when I was in India and

5 Things that Did Not Work for Me to Lose Weight with Hypothyroid/PCOS

I have been suffering and dealing with Hypothyroid/PCOS for about a decade now. Weight gain is one of the main problems of people struggling with these two chronic illnesses. I have tried a lot of things to reduce weight and over the years I have been through many trials and tribulations and made many mistakes in the process of trying to lose weight.  The following tips come from my experience and these are mistakes you might want to avoid if weight loss is your goal with Hypothyroid/PCOS. Counting calories : Like many others, I bought into the belief that by counting calories and limiting my calorie intake I would be able to lose weight. But this is a very bad way to start because it gives you the idea that you can eat anything and everything as long as you are limiting your calorie intake. And since most foods like junk, and ready-made foods that you buy at the supermarket come with a lot of calories, I used to overall eat very less, not get enough nutrition, starve myself, and then
