May 2012 Favorites and Regrets

There goes another month of blogging and I can't believe I seriously made it. At first, I thought I'll do a few posts and see how this goes, but I'm really loving it and hope to continue doing more.  Thanks to the few followers I have for hanging on there loyally, you guys make my day, and I hope I don't disappoint you. I do not have any new favorites in other categories like food, toiletries, tv/movies, etc. If I did have any, they were repeats from the previous month so I did not include them again here. The products I have reviewed are all linked, and for those I didn't, I've written a short review of why I did or didn't like them. Beauty and makeup favorites this month: Avon Imari Seduction Roll-On Antiperspirant Deodorant Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter 001 Pink Truffle Nivea A Kiss of Moisture lip balm: A very basic and boring lip balm but it works. Does anyone really not like the Nivea lip balms? Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color 906D Wine Room NYC Mat

NYC Matte Me Crazy Mattifying Top Coat Review and Swatches

I found this baby at Target the other day, it was the only one left, and I'm glad I got it. I'm in a matte phase right now, matte face powder, matte blush etc. and matte nails of course.  The back of the bottle shows the shade number and name along with a peel me sticker which opens to show the ingredients and directions of use. The brush is your average nail polish brush, nothing fancy, and the polish looks like a thick transparent whitish shade but it does not apply white. Finger with just the original nail polish Finger with NYC Matte me Crazy applied The application was easy and not messy.  It dries pretty fast. This is just one coat and that is more than enough. Doesn't it look awesome? I thought so. Now I can make all my nail polishes look matte for under $2. It also lasts as long as the original nail polish lasts. So the lasting power depends on the formula and staying power of the original nail polish you have before applying this. I think this is pretty g

Schwarzkopf got2b Smooth Operator smoothing lustre lotion Review

I have wayy/curly hair and I needed a product that can be used as both a leave-in and as a protectant for when I am heat styling. A sales lady at CVS recommended this so I got it and have been using it for about 3 months now. I love the shape and color of this bottle, smooth and chic. Other variants come with cute charms hanging at the top but mine didn't. The claims and ingredients are clearly given on the back. The product is a white creamy lotion that feels smooth and sticky. It has an amazing floral scent that lasts very long. I love the pump on this, very convenient and easy to get the product onto the hand except you might want to be careful and not pump it all the way down as this would squirt a lot of product onto your hand. As a leave-in cream, it can be used on both wet and dry hair. I apply it on air-dried hair. It takes a few minutes to settle in but after that it makes your hair look great. My hair is nicely smoothed out but it doesn't feel heavy, greasy,

Himalaya Protein Shampoo Extra Moisturizing for Normal to Dry Hair Review

I bought this shampoo on my last trip to India as I was in a herbal phase and wanted to try something a little natural. I found this in a medical shop and decided to give it a try. I've never had any good experiences with Himalaya products before but this was only 55 Rs ($1) so I thought, what have I got to lose? I need a shampoo anyways so why not try this out? The claims, and ingredients are clearly shown on the back of the bottle. The shampoo is a shiny liquid runny in consistency. It's a peachy color and smells good but nothing too strong. The packaging is average. The shampoo doesn't do much. Actually, I don't even feel clean after using it. It makes my hair very dry, and frizzy, and I experienced a slight amount of hair fall too. It's definitely not a moisturizing shampoo . And whenever I apply oil, the shampoo almost doesn't work at all. It barely cleans anything. It does leave the hair smelling good for long but if I wanted to perfume my hair I&#

Wet n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color 218A I Need A Refresh-Mint Review and Swatches

OK, let me just start off by saying something totally unrelated,  Pinterest  is so friggin addictive!!! The reason why I've not posted yet this week is coz I've been there all the time pinning this, pinning that, pinning almost everything that could possibly be pinned online. I know, I have a problem here, so I decided not to pin too much today and do a blog post instead, it was long overdue anyway. My first Wet n Wild mega last Nail Color was in the shade I Need A Refresh-Mint. And the packaging was one of the reasons. The back of the bottle clearly shows the shade name and the ingredients on a peel-open sticker. There's the logo of the company embossed on the other two sides. The top shows us that they have introduced a ManiCurve Pro Brush which I must say is very impressive. Looks very chic, sturdy, and promising for a product that is so inexpensive. The brush is kind of like the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure's and in fact, the design looks a little similar to

Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter 001 Pink Truffle Review and Swatches

I finally got to try the most talked about Revlon Lip Butters. I got about 5 of them and my fave of them all by far is 001 Pink Truffle. I really like the transparent quilted packaging. Also, the color of the case matches the shade color. It comes sealed with the bar code sticker that opens as a leaflet to show us the list of ingredients. It is overall well thought out and looks quite chic. The top is clear and we can clearly see what the shade looks like. The bottom label shows the shade color, number, and name.  The amount of product you get is less compared to the regular amount of lipstick we usually get. The shade  has so many undertones in it. I can see some shades of pink, and brown. There's a hint of warmness to it even though it is a cool-toned color.  If you can notice, you'll see that the lipstick has a tendency to smush, when I twist it up entirely and then roll it back down, a little bit of it gets onto the sides. The ingredients are clearly shown in the sticky
