April 2012 Favorites and Regrets

I can't believe April has already come to an end. I can't say I'm sorry either because this means less rain, more blossoms, and summer in another month. So without further ado, I present to you this month's beauty and makeup favorites. For those I've reviewed I have linked them to the blog post. For the rest of them, I left short reviews of why I did or didn't like them. As you can see there are quite a few things I've been liking this month. The list of all things beauty I've been loving/using frequently are: (in left to right order) Aussie Instant Freeze Hair Spray Extreme Hold: This product is just wow. The windy city can be brutal to hair and this product is really a blessing. It's easy to use and smells great. It's not too expensive and comes in a huge bottle. Clairol Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Conditioner Jergens Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Moisturizer: I first got introduced to this lotion when I was in India and

Avon Imari Seduction Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Review

I love visiting the Dollar Store skincare/beauty section for some rare finds. The Avon Imari Seduction Deodorant is one such find. The product comes with a seal which is important especially when you are buying deodorant and that too at a dollar store. It's a very small pack and contains about 1.7 oz (50 ml) of product and costs $1. It's your average roll on deodorant except it's not a stick. It's of a thick watery consistency which applies as you roll the plastic ball on the top onto your skin. It's kind of like the ballpoint pen technology.  And the scent, OMG, it smells so good. It's a soothing lavender kind of smell and I love it. It also seriously stays all day. The only problem is that because of its watery consistency, you have to wait a while for it to dry before you put on your clothes otherwise it transfers to your shirt. It comes with a tiny booklet sticker attached to its back showing its uses, claims, ingredients, warnings, etc. It does reduce und

Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo Original Formula Review

I've been using this shampoo for a while now as a solution for dandruff, oily scalp, and scalp acne.  The packaging is very clinical. You press the dent on one side to open the cap. You can see that I've used more than half of the product. This is what the product claims, clearly given on the back of both the pack and the bottle. The ingredients list is also clearly given on the back. The shampoo is runny and has a light caramel color. Looks like honey but when observed closely has a dark green duo chrome to it which is I guess is because of the coal tar. . First of all, the shampoo smells bad, and I got the one that says "new scent" but that doesn't mean it smells flowery. It has kind of a moth ball-like smell and it is pretty strong. But I didn't mind the smell as curing my dandruff problem was more important to me. I used it twice a week as they said on the package. I felt like it sucked out all the oil, and moisture on my scalp, and made it v

Lady Speed Stick Floral Infusions Antiperspirant/Deodorant Review

While browsing through the beauty aisles at CVS I came across the Lady Speed Stick 24H Protection Antiperspirant/Deodorant Fresh Infusions in Wild Freesia. I never tried anything from this brand so I bought it. It's just your basic deodorant stick which you twist at the bottom, and it rolls up and you apply it and roll it back. I love how it came with a plastic seal on top.  The ingredients are shown clearly on the back. It claims to reduce underarm wetness and stay active for 24H (as shown on the front of the product). And it does what it claims. It does give protection from underarm sweat all day and more. It applies as a white kind of substance and looks like a thick wet powder when applied. It doesn't transfer onto your clothes. The scent is floral and very pleasant. The downside though is that it is very hard to get it off. When you use this product regularly it kind of builds up on your skin and becomes tough to remove after a while. And since I have sensitive

Clairol Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Conditioner Review

I've been using the Clairol Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Conditioner for Dry and Damaged Hair for a while now.  You open it by pressing the dent on one side. The ingredients/claims are clearly listed on the back of the bottle. It's a thick cream consistency. It looks like it would be quite moisturizing. After using it for a few weeks, I can now say that the slip is quite good and helps detangle hair easily. It rinses off easily and makes my hair soft and gave a nice shine. My lengths looked soft and well groomed instead of frizzing up the usual way. The scent is a very pleasant floral scent but it doesn't last very long. You also do not need much product every time you use it. It takes very little for my shoulder-length hair. One problem though is that after using it a few times it gets a little difficult to get the product out; you have to press really hard and strain your hands to get the product out. I think putting this conditioner in a tub woul

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick 906D Wine Room Review and Swatches

Wet n Wild mega last lipsticks are their super pigmented semi-matte lipsticks that were launched last year. In this post I'm reviewing these lipsticks in general and swatch the shade 906D Wine Room. This is how they look: A part of the lipstick is outside the container which gives a clear view of the color through the clear top cap. I'm not sure how I like that since it's good we can see the color but every time I open the cap the lipstick gets smeared onto it by accident. Below you can see how they look when opened. You can notice a smear of the lipstick on the top cap and most of these lipsticks come packaged with smears like this. They do come with a seal which I had removed so they were for sure not caused by customers testing them in the store. I think this was how they come out of the factory. The amount of lipstick you'll get is pretty good. I really liked the stick shape of the lipstick too. Up close you can see that it's a nice peachy pink shade. These
